My Story

I received my Master of Science degree in Art Therapy Counseling from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts in 2005.

While in graduate school, I was an AmeriCorps fellow and served at a residential treatment facility for adolescents struggling with histories of abuse, neglect, and trauma.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in Psychology and Art.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas.

I am also an Advanced Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist; I love learning, and have completed advanced training at The Wellness Institute in Issaquah, Washington.

More than anything, I enjoy getting to know people and what they care about; being a therapist is truly the best job I could ever imagine!

“Shannon is compassionate, knowledgeable and very empathetic. Her amazing set of skills, wisdom and kindness make her clients feel safe and motivated to heal.”

Hi! I’m Shannon.

I am a creative person who enjoys making things and exploring new places and ideas.

I love to be active, which is why I enjoy non-traditional therapy at work.

I grew up in Olathe, Kansas, and after moving around a bit, I have come home to stay. I love to be with my family – the true loves of my life – which includes my husband, our kids, and our cats. Our home is my favorite place to spend time.
